From The Photographer:
“In 2017, after dating for 7 1/2 years, Katelyn was getting impatient for a proposal. Unbeknownst to her, Matt had already set events in motion months earlier.
In late July of 2017, they took a trip to Colorado to climb the Flatirons. They love the outdoors and everything that comes with it. At the pinnacle of the second Flatiron. Katelyn set up her camera for some timed shots of the two of them. Matt had been waiting for this exact moment for all year. The ring had made the flight to Colorado rolled up in socks and tucked deep inside his boots where she was sure not to see it.
The night before the climb, it has been moved into his backpack in a side zipper compartment. As they set up their camera, Matt slipped the ring box into his hand. The camera was set to take two photos. After the first picture snapped, Katelyn looked at Matt and said, “Let’s take a kissing picture.” That’s when Matt responded with “No.” Katelyn gave him a look of irritated confusion. “No?” she questioned with her eyes.
That’s when Matt got down on one knee and opened the ring box. Her face transformed from a scowl to joyful disbelief. Katelyn put both of her hands to her face, and the camera clicked – capturing the moment perfectly. During their engagement, the both got a tattoo on their right shoulders. Hers is the longitude, his is the latitude where they stood for that amazing photograph.”
